Energy loss for Edelman

Two key energy lobbyists quit agency for in-house roles

Edelman has been hit by the resignation of its top two energy lobbyists – weeks after its new public affairs chief Stephen Lotinga quit the agency.

Director of energy public affairs Jessica Lennard is understood to be leaving to head up public affairs for Ovo Energy. At the same time, account director Tristan Denton is believed to have quit the firm’s energy public affairs team for a senior lobbying post at Hitatchi.

PAN reported last month that Lotinga had quit as Edelman’s MD of public affairs to become communications director to deputy prime minister Nick Clegg. Lotinga only joined Edelman in January this year, succeeding Chris Rumfitt.

However, the agency has strengthened its team with former Lib Dem special adviser Katie Waring. The former aide to Vince Cable and Ed Davey makes the move into the agency world after just over a year as head of corporate and public affairs at Global Radio. Meanwhile an Edelman insider said the agency had identified its new public affairs MD.
