Labour lobbyist joins local government specialist to drive new London unit.

Cratus Communications has hired Curtin&Co associate director Michael Stanworth to spearhead a recently-established London division.

Stanworth spent four years at Curtin&Co and was previously campaign manager for the Labour group on Greenwich Council.

In the new role, he oversees a six-strong team of public affairs specialists providing support for firms looking to liaise with local government across the capital.

Planning specialist Cratus has 19 consultants and is headed by executive chairman Sir Merrick Cockell, deputy chairman Chris Roberts and chief executive Nick Kilby.

Kilby said “We have made a number of exciting new appointments recently and Michael completes these. Our teams feel revitalised, they are eager to push boundaries, show the world how important local decision making is and endorse our saying - our world is local.”

The agency also has Conservative MP and former local government minister Bob Neill on the books as a non-executive director.
