Public Affairs News Awards 2010

Welcome to the Public Affairs News Awards 2010

The Public Affairs News Awards – the highlight of the industry calendar and now in their sixth year – are to be held on the evening of Wednesday 27 October 2010.

The awards will again be hosted by The Brewery in the City of London, which successfully hosted last year’s event for the first time. Our host for the evening will be the BBC's Chief Political Correspondent, Laura Kuenssberg.

In July nominations will open in 14 categories. We have decided to introduce four new awards, including ‘Best Use of Social Media in a Public Affairs Campaign’, and 'Best Agency to Work For', alongside all the usual favourites such as ‘Consultancy of the Year’.

The 24-strong judging panel refreshed with new faces from across the sector, and – for the first time – the shortlisted entries and winners across all categories will be decided entirely by the judges (replacing the former process of some categories being decided by online votes). The three shortlisted entries in selected categories will be invited to support their nomination by means of a short presentation to selected judges. This process was introduced for last year’s awards and was roundly praised for the rigour it provided.

I hope you become involved in the process and I look forward to welcoming you to the ceremony in October.
