Tracey Loftis joined last week from Cancer Research UK, where she had worked for five-and-a-half years, latterly managing the charity’s Westminster public affairs.
Her new role has been created as Arthritis Research UK seeks to boost the profile of arthritis and musculoskeletal conditions in Whitehall and Westminster. The charity is also planning to recruit a policy manager.
Arthritis Research UK is headquartered in Chesterfield, but Loftis will be based in the charity’s London office. She reports to chief executive Dr Liam O’Toole. Kirsty Walker remains policy and comms director.
Public Affairs News reported last month that Cancer Research UK’s head of public affairs and campaigning, Jon Spiers, is also leaving to set up a public affairs and campaigning consultancy with healthcare PR firm Just::Health PR (PAN, Oct).
