Ex-Daily Express man Milland takes head of press role at Policy Exchange
Policy Exchange has completed its search for a new head of press by hiring former Daily Express political correspondent Gabriel Milland.
Milland becomes the second ex-Daily Express political correspondent to hold the position, as it was last held by Katy Taylor-Richards, who left almost 18 months ago (PAN, Mar 09). PAN reported earlier this year that the think-tank, whose director is Neil O’Brien, was recruiting to replace her (PAN, Feb).
Milland was most recently head of media at the Britain-Israel Communications & Research Centre (BICOM), which he left in March after only joining in January. He had since worked as a freelance journalist.
Separately at Policy Exchange, head of events and external comms Hannah Staunton is leaving to be comms manager for the planned redevelopment of King’s Cross at Network Rail. She will be replaced by Harriet McKenzie, who has been promoted from a role as events assistant.
Policy Exchange’s director of comms remains Amy Fisher, who joined from Google (PAN online, 18 Dec 08).
