Chris Yiu started on 10 October and is a replacement for Piotr Brzezinski, who left the think-tank in mid-August to move to the US to complete a JD/MBA degree at Yale.
Yiu was a civil servant, most recently leading HM Treasury’s work on competition in the financial services sector.
Before this he worked for McKinsey & Company, and prior to that he led the Treasury’s work to reform inheritance tax and capital-gains tax, and worked on long-term policy projects in the PM’s strategy unit when Tony Blair was PM.
Policy Exchange’s digital government unit is currently running events and publishing research on issues including the online provision of public services, ‘open data’ and cyber-security.
