CentreForum brings in ex-KPMG man Nicholson as chief executive

A former 25-year company stalwart at accountancy giant KPMG has been named as a director and CEO of the think-tank CentreForum.

Chris Nicholson will work alongside CentreForum’s two existing directors, Julian Astle and Anthony Rowlands, and will have responsibility for ‘developing and managing’ its growth.
Nicholson worked for KPMG between 1985 and March this year, when he left to fight the Streatham parliamentary seat for the Lib Dems. The seat was won by Labour’s Chuka Umunna.
He was latterly a senior partner at KPMG, leading its public-sector practice from 2004-2008.
CentreForum recently lost chief economist Giles Wilkes after about two years, who became a special adviser to business secretary Vince Cable at the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills.
