EGTA finishes search for new sec-gen by appointing Christian de Barrin

BRUSSELS: The European Association of Television and Radio Sales Houses (EGTA) has completed its search for a new secretary-general, appointing Christian de Barrin to the role.

The French national, who has already started in the job, has previously worked for associations including the International Chromium Development Association (ICDA), Toy Industries of Europe and the European Copper Institute, where he worked for almost eight years.
De Barrin has been a board member of the European Association of Communication Directors since 2008.
Ten-strong EGTA had spent the past few months recruiting for the position after the retirement of Michel Grégoire six months ago after 16 years with the association. Long-serving Katty Roberfroid is deputy secretary-general.
Public Affairs Newsreported two months ago that EGTA had hired Conor Murray as head of regulatory and public affairs.
