Rosie Donachie starts on 7 November in the London-based position, reporting to head of group government affairs Henry Goodwin.
Donachie joins from a role as senior adviser in the UK Cabinet Office’s ‘behavioural insights’ team. She has formerly worked at the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, in the Prime Minister’s Strategy Unit, as policy adviser to the Party of European Socialists (PES) Group in the European Parliament (EP) and as an adviser to the leader of the UK Labour MEPs in the EP.
Goodwin said: “Rosie will be a major asset as we develop our position in European public affairs. She brings frontline experience of Whitehall and Downing Street, but it’s her wealth of knowledge and contacts across Brussels and Paris that will really deliver for the business.”
Kingfisher operates about 875 stories in eight counties in Europe and Asia. Its main retail brands include B&Q, Castorama and Brico Dépôt. The company in September reported a better-than-expected 24 per cent rise in interim pre-tax profits to £439m.
