FleishmanHillard Fishburn adds to ‘senior bench strength’ with double hire.

FleishmanHillard Fishburn has acted to decisively boost its public affairs firepower by hiring two senior industry figures.

The agency has recruited the experienced public affairs adviser Nick DeLuca as a senior partner. It has also brought in PHA Media public affairs chief and former Liberal Democrat communications director Tim Snowball as head of public affairs.

Fishburn Hedges and Fleishman Hillard joined forces in late 2015 to create FleishmanHillard Fishburn.

The hires indicate that the agency continues to put a premium on its public affair offer, after recently losing its last head of public affairs Michelle Di Leo to rival firm InHouse.

Agency CEO Jim Donaldson said: “We are very pleased to have secured the services of both Nick and Tim to add to our senior bench strength.

“We have had a very good couple of years and hiring these types of quality senior individuals will help to continue our growth trajectory into 2018 and beyond. Our UK PA offer remains a key asset, and with London continuing to be an important hub for our industry and for FH globally, they will also work closely with Michael Hartt on international affairs."

DeLuca is well-known in the public affairs industry, having worked at a number of major agencies and been a founding member of Open Road which is now part of Teneo Blue Rubicon. In addition to his UK role, DeLuca will sit on the agency’s international advisory board providing “high-level counsel to key global clients”.

Snowball will take over the day-to-day running of the public affairs team. He joined Nick Clegg’s parliamentary office in 2006 and went on to be the Lib Dem director of communications before leaving to set up a new public affairs unit at PHA Media in 2014.

DeLuca said: “I'm very excited to be joining FHF, one of London's premier agencies and a truly global consulting business. I hope to be able to help further strengthen their public affairs offering not only here in the UK, but into Europe and beyond.

“More than ever, in these complex and challenging political times, clients need assistance navigating waters unsettled by historic developments; Brexit, the Trump Presidency, economic  uncertainty, technological disruption. FHF is perfectly placed to counsel businesses through such change. I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to help grow that business and be a part of that success story."

Snowball said: "I am delighted to be joining FleishmanHillard Fishburn at a time when the agency’s EU and UK political expertise, as well as campaigning tenacity, position us perfectly to offer support to increasing numbers of clients throughout the Brexit process.”
