Exclusive: Lottie Dominiczak will make the move later this month.

Former Conservative special adviser Lottie Dominiczak is joining Uber as head of communications for the UK.

Dominiczak most recently worked for Matt Hancock in the Department of Health & Social Care, having previously been an aide to Hancock in the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport.

Prior to this, Dominiczak (née Dexter) was a special adviser to Damian Green and director of Million Jobs, a campaign to help young unemployed people.

She also happens to be one half of a so-called ‘Westminster power couple’ with the Daily Telegraph’s former political editor Peter Dominiczak, who now works for Lynton Crosby’s CTF Partners.

In the new post, Dominczak will report into Alex Belardinelli, the former adviser to Ed Balls who was promoted to be head of communications for northern & eastern Europe earlier this year.

It comes after Uber’s US-based communcations chief Rachel Whetstone quit last year amid a welter of controversies. She is now head of press at Netflix.

Meanwhile as he settles in to the job of health secretary, Hancock has turned to Hanover Communications to get a new special adviser, with senior director Richard Sloggett making the switch.
