Edelman wins pitch with FTSE 250 healthcare property specialist
Assura brings in first public affairs agency after competitive pitch.
Primary care property specialist Assura PLC has appointed Edelman to manage its financial communications and public affairs.
The agency takes the retained account with the FTSE 250 firm following a competitive pitch process. Assura did not previously have a public affairs agency in place.
Edelman will promote Assura across “a range of stakeholder groups,” including financial and investor, central and local Government as well as potential customers.
Assura is the largest healthcare real estate investment trust in the UK and now owns 475 medical centres across the country. In March 2017, its portfolio was valued at £1,345 million.
Mav Wynn, director at Edelman’s financial communications and investor relations specialist consultancy Smithfield, will lead the account. The public affairs side of the account will be led by Lucy Thomas, former Britain Stronger in Europe deputy director, who is now ‘head of Brexit advice’ at Edelman.
Edelman will report to Assura head of public affairs Claire Rick and CEO Jonathan Murphy.
Rick said: "We’re hugely excited to be working with Edelman on integrating our communications work across the diverse and complex mix of audiences we reach – and to amplify the message about the urgent need for better primary care infrastructure."
