Cool takes new communications supremo post at Which?
Former John Lewis and Asda operator resurfaces at consumer lobby group.
Former John Lewis public affairs chief Charlotte Cool is taking a newly-created post as communications chief at Which?
Cool will join the consumer advice and advocacy organisation next month in the role of group communications director. She will oversee a team of around 60, including the press office, the corporate communications team and the advocacy team which is responsible for public affairs and has been pushing politicians to act on the cost living.
Until late last year, Cool was vice president of corporate affairs at Asda. She joined the retailer in 2016 after ten years at John Lewis Partnership where she was group head of corporate affairs. Cool – who was interviewed by PAN in 2015 – was previously a researcher and press officer for the Labour party under Tony Blair’s leadership.
In a statement, Cool said: "I'm delighted to be joining Which? as it celebrates its 60th anniversary, to help deliver its ambitious commercial and campaigning goals, and to empower consumers in new and diverse ways."
Cool takes over from interim communications chief Laura Osborne. The communications function at Which? was previously overseen by former Downing Street operator Vickie Sherriff.
