Charlotte Street Partners signs up Finsbury lobbyist as associate partner
Edinburgh and London-based agency pounces for ex-Tory spinner Ian Gibson.
Charlotte Street Partners has signed up former Finsbury lobbyist and Scottish Conservatives press officer Iain Gibson as associate partner.
The fast-growing public affairs and strategic communications firm has captured Gibson after he spent seven years at Finsbury. He was based in the firm's Middle East & Africa offices, advising government and private sector clients across the region.
Edinburgh and London-based Charlotte Street Partners was founded by former BAA communications chief Malcolm Robertson and ex-SNP politician Andrew Wilson in 2014. Gibson’s appointment takes the number of staff to 18.
Robertson, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Iain to our talented and motivated team. He joins us at an exciting time and one of considerable growth for the agency. We continue to look for further opportunities to challenge the potential of our existing team and to recruit new talent. We hope to have further announcements to make later in the summer.”
Gibson, who prior to leaving Scotland in 2011, spent six years in the press office at Holyrood for the Scottish Conservatives, said: "I have followed the progress of Charlotte Street Partners closely for a number of years, so I am thrilled to be joining the agency at a time when it is clearly growing from strength to strength.
“As the world becomes more interconnected, clients increasingly require counsel and advice from a global perspective. I'm looking forward to using my experience of working abroad to provide these services for our clients and I'm especially excited to be joining such a strong team of people."
